Zamana (poem)

Just as life catches its speed, we often forget how we were and what got us here, soon the daily routine becomes a reality and we're stuck telling ourselves " woh bhi kya din the..."  The following lines describe some similar emotions, as when I look back and see myself dreaming, just like everyone else finding a partner, falling in love. Kamyabi k nashe me Dil dhut hai aajkal, usse yaad kiye zamana hogaya... Tumhe dekhkar Khush, aur koi tumhe dekhe to chid jata tha, kisi ki muskaan per pighale zamana hogaya... Wo kitabo k bahane tumhare peeche aana, har baat per bewajah hasanaa, man he man tumse baat kiye zamana hogaya...

First date in Pandemic

My farewell poem (Hindi)

Hum 1 baar jeete hai 1 baar marte hai, college bhi 1 baar he jaate hai. Lekin lecture, wo kyu roz jana padta hai huh!   4 saal ki journey 4 din me pure hogai, aaye the to kaise the koi shy, to koi enthusiastic sa kisi ko padhna pasand tha to kisi ko sirf class bunk karna, kitne alag the na hum sab, per 1 chatt ke niche aake Jaise 1 hi hogaye. Yaha aake pata chala Latur ka Mausam, parbhani ke raste, Pune ke Peth aur Jalgaon ki galiya. Sab apne dosto ke sath unki baato me ghum aaya. Yaad hai mujhe wo college ka pehla din, anjan chehre, unkahi kahaniya, kuch dino me kab apne hogye pata he nahi chala. Yaad hai wo imagica jane ka plan jo last exam ke baad cancel hojata tha , pune me Starbucks ka plan jo shivneri me badal jata tha. Yaad aati hai us dost ki, jo kaha karta tha,” yehi pal to badme yaad aayenge” ha vohi jo present me he nostalgia me jee rha tha! Yaad aati hai mujhe wo har pehli baat, vo pehli mulakat. Benchmate se next lecture puchna, saara kam apne lab partner ...

Girls on social media

Have you seen those reels and tictoks where a girl smiles at you and music plays in the background? The model doesn’t do much as opposed to winking or doing something that makes her look cute. These reels have millions of views and likes. To be honest this boils my brain. I’m not against anything here nor am I roasting someone, what boggles me is that there is not much to see or do and yet they trend. Why? The answer lies in our evolutionary biology. You see, men are hardwired to the visual cues, we see a female interested in us and went and followed her. Unfortunately, we still do that but this time on social media! The cues given are not real and neither the girl! It is just a video and it will be the same 10 years from now whether you like it or not. But the male brain sees it as an invitation. Long ago when we were hunter-gatherers, the females wooed us by these non-vocal signs, it was a mating technique to call the wanted one and ignore the rest. With the internet, this situ...

My farewell speech

Good evening, respected principal, teacher, and my dear friends, I stand here not as the GS of this meritorious institute but as your friend, before starting my speech I deeply thank our faculty and staff for arranging this fabulous function in the blink of an eye just for us. My deepest gratitude towards my 2-guiding light prof. Mishra and prof. shelar.   if I could summarize my journey in a word it would be ‘amazing!’ We live in unprecedented times,   in my first year, if someone told me that your farewell will be done on a computer, in the awestruck of the sheer audacity of this ridiculous comment, I’d be amused in disbelief. But see here we are facing each other while facing our screens, the pandemic has torn us apart but also got us together in unimaginable means. I thought now that it’s our final year id lose touch with my friends that I’ll have to face the demons alone, also known as “growing up” but I’m glad that my friends didn’t leave me, they were there...

Life is a full circle.

Life is a full circle. I feel like whatever we do ultimately prepares us for something that is yet to come; take for example your school curriculum, whatever you are taught each day ultimately appears on the test paper. The same happens for life as well. The only difference is that we don’t know the syllabus. We keep on reading, writing may be the doing part, all that happens to us is a test or maybe a preparation of it. A story that highlights this phenomenon is of  the great warrior prince of Yemen: Hatim. The brother of the princess Hatim is in love with is under a curse to be molded in stone; given by a demon. To kill the demon, Hatim has to answer 7 questions/ riddles. Each answer weakens the demon and releases a part of his body from the curse. The quest for answers forces him on an incredible journey. Every step of the journey puts a test in front of him and he has to use his morals and intellect to get ahead. Interestingly, all the previous milestones and peopl...
